Two cities which oppose each other for centuries for reasons long forgotten lead a seemingly endless war, each dragging half of the planets population into their battles. In the West lies Lyasis, the so-called City of Light, where life consists of fun, joy, wealth and other luxuries. Most of the townspeople are blissfully unaware of the incessent war, since the government tries its best to conceal the truth; it oppresses the media and prosecutes everyone who intends to make the real conditions public. Cloud, Tifa, Lightning, Tidus and Stella are, among others, not only inhabitants of Lyasis, but also members of an underground resistance whose goal it is to bring down the corrupt government and end the war for good. In the East reigns Ragaria, the Haunted City, where the sun never rises and darkness swallows all happy thoughts. Starting from early childhood, everyone who grows up here is drilled to become a coldhearted, merciless warrior, capable of killing without any scruple.
